I graduated from Louisiana College in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Pre-Law and Psychology. Shortly after, I began my career as a counselor at Red River Treatment Center and went on to earn my Master’s in Social Work from Grambling State University in 1994. I later served as a clinical supervisor at Red River Treatment Center, gaining valuable experience in addiction and mental health treatment.
In 2011, I transitioned to Central Hospital, where I worked as a unit supervisor for individuals with severe mental illness until 2017. I then became the department head of social work at Central Hospital, a role I held until my retirement in October 2021.
In the evenings, I continue to stay active in the field as a clinical supervisor for home health services. I’ve also been part of Stillwaters Hospice since 2008. My areas of focus include working with clients facing substance use issues and depression, and I currently lead our evening Intensive Outpatient Group.
