Insurance

We accept most commercial insurance plans including:

  • Blue Cross & Blue Shield
  • United Healthcare/Optum

Depending on your current health insurance provider or employee benefit plan, it is possible for services to be covered in part or in full. Please contact your insurance provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychotherapy services.


We recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
  • Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it, and have I met it yet?
  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Rates

If you do not have or do not wish to use insurance, our standard self-pay rate is $130 for your initial 60-minute session (where we’ll get to know you and conduct an introductory assessment of your needs) and $115 for each 60-minute session thereafter.

For those who may be interested, we also have two provisionally-licensed counselors in our office, meaning they are at the final step of the process to become clinically licensed in the state of Louisiana. They have extensive counseling experience and are fully capable of handling a wide range of client issues. They are also being clinically supervised by Shirley Ryland, LCSW and owner of Alexandria Counseling, LLC.

Because these counselors are not yet clinically licensed and therefore are not yet “in-network” with insurance companies, they see clients at a reduced cash rate of $80 for the intake session and $60 thereafter.

Payment

We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards as forms of payment. Payment is due at the time of service.

Cancellation Policy

Out of respect for your own treatment as well as the time of our clinicians, please be aware of our cancellation policy.

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged the $75 cancellation fee.
